I went to work on Wednesday, April 2, 1997. When I got there I knew something was wrong. I didn't have any power - the electric line was down. I think the ANGELS were trying to tell me something or one flew in a little low. I hope his wings are all right. Mom was going over the Arbuckles to Davis; I saw her car pull in. I couldn't take her where she was going. I never saw her. I think an ANGEL was driving. Her mother was with her. She was with her when she came into this world. She was with her that day. I saw the back of that big white Lincoln. She was going over the Arbuckles to her home with all the other ANGELS.
Right when they got to Davis, on Highway 77, Mom went to be with ANGELS. Her mother was in the car alone. Mom was already with the ANGELS. Grandmother grabbed the wheel; she steered the car off the road. Her baby lay behind the wheel. She blew the horn. Within minutes, an ANGEL appeared and held my Grandmother. He sells donuts in Davis.
We got the call. It was the worst we could ever hope to get. It was an ANGEL. He called our family together. Mom was already with the ANGELS. Another ANGEL appeared. He lifted our mother's body. Then, another ANGEL threw her coat on the grassy knoll as he laid our mother's body down. My Grandmother was surrounded by the ANGELS of the Arbuckles. They were everywhere. One drove a car, it had OHP on the door. He worked so hard to bring her back. He did not know she was already with the ANGELS. An ANGEL took our Grandmother to the hospital following the ambulance that carried her little ANGEL. Leading the way, clearing the path, was another ANGEL. He's a chief who watches over the city of Davis. The ANGEL that took Grandmother to the hospital gave her a kiss on the head and then she disappeared. Some of the ANGELS had badges. A lot of them look like average people, but we knew they are really ANGELS. Our mother was an ANGEL on Earth. I know I saw ANGELS in the Arbuckles.
The next day I went to Springer. The few hours I spent there, I saw so many people. They were sad. Their arms were open; their hearts were broken. Their hugs and good words gave me so much strength. Once again the ANGELS of the Arbuckles were all around me. The grown men had tears in their eyes. The little children asked me why? That night we went to see Mom; they say it was raining. I know it wasn't. It was the ANGELS tears falling on us. They were so sad because we all hurt so much. They were so happy because she was with them. The next day was so much like the last. I went to Springer and the ANGELS came out. Everyone wanted to help. There was one thing I hated to ask. We needed a place to get together. Then a noble man appeared. He never knew his actions would be such a reflection of his name. I asked for his help. Just a place for us to meet. He offered to us everything he had. Then he was gone. That ANGEL called me a short time later. He had us a place; he served us food; he tended the bar. He held our Mother's husband of 53 years. I never knew he loved our Dad so much. I know you are an ANGEL of the Arbuckles.
Friday night the ANGELS were still crying. The people of Springer and all our friends shared so much of our pain. We could not believe all the food the ANGELS had brought. The phone never stopped ringing; the cards poured in. We went to see Mom. The plants and flowers were everywhere. The sweet smell of her room lifted us to a high we had never known. We know it was the ANGELS of the Arbuckles who did this. Thank each and everyone of you. I hope my words can give you all as much comfort as you have given us.
So next time you go to the Arbuckles, remember this. The ANGELS of the Arbuckles are everywhere so you will never be alone. If you ever really need help, don't worry the ANGELS of the Arbuckles will appear and their love will take you under their care.
