A Special Note: Since March '97, I have been emailing my "This & That newsletter" each Saturday, which now goes to over 1,200 people. Friends tell me by people using FORWARD it probably goes to several thousand in two or three days. It is full of tidbits about Ardmore, Oklahoma, Carter County, and other parts of the state. I touch on everything from local events and people, to newsworthy happenings, to "a glimpse into the past", computer tech help, a mystery or two, other links, some fun stuff, lots of history, and much, much more. Just send me some email and asked to be placed on my weekly "mailing list" and I'll see you get a copy each Saturday morning. Also if you can't find a photo you want to see, send me email and I'll get it from my archives or point you to the right URL. See you on the weekends!

On Sunday afternoon September 1, 2002 I had an experience I never thought possible in this county. I went out to Magnetic Hill and experience my truck roll uphill at 10 miles an hour! Magnetic Hill is located 1 1/2 miles west of I-35 and Highway 53 West to Pioneer/Pitt Road, then turn north and go about 1/2 mile to the bottom of the hill. I have more info and photos on my Mysteries and The Unexplained Website.
I have over 200 photos of bells from all around Oklahoma!
The legend of Brown Springs south of Thackerville, Oklahoma continues.....
I received an interesting CD in the mail. It was sent to me from former Ardmoreite Doyle Williams who now lives in Fort Worth. Back on July 4, 1964 one of the worst fires Ardmore has experienced took place, the creosote post 5th Avenue NE viaduct (bridge) burned. Doyle had an 8mm color camera on that day and took a 50 foot roll of film he hurriedly purchased from Gibson's Discount Store at 12th and North Washington. Below is a link of the footage of that film in "mov" format. You will need the latest version of QuickTime to view it. The file is 4megs in size, so it will take several minutes to download at 56k.
Here's a pic of the CD Doyle Williams created. It has 8 still pics of the fire captured by Doyle from the film and burned on the CD.

Here are some interesting sites around the southern Oklahoma area and other places of interest, past and present.
Remember CPM? How about Sinclair microcomputers? Commodore 64? Or maybe XT's with MFM hard drives? Well, then how about just plain old DOS? Here is a little history in my computer experience dating back to 1980. You will even see a photo of my first computer I bought in March 1982 for $99.
The Tech Corner, my experiences in solving computer problems. Plus helpful links on where to go for help.
Angels. Are they real? Are they watching over us? I believe so. A fellow Ardmoreite, Joey Trovato, has written about the Angels in the Arbuckles. The Arbuckle Mountains are located about 12 miles north of Ardmore.
As the caretaker of the Seth Thomas Tower Clock in the dome of the Carter County Courthouse in Ardmore, Oklahoma, here is a Page dedicated just to the clock. Lots of photos! Of course there is always that one person who gets mad when something good is done. But nearly everyone was happy the clock was working again including the President of the Tower Clock Chapter in Oklahoma City.
