About the owners
Cyndee and Larry Weston began operating a billing service from their home in December, 1989. Since then, they have led the small biller industry in providing quality information for many specialty companies in the industry as well as providing successful billing and consulting services for nearly a decade. They are trained in using and resell Medisoft, AltaPoint, and
MedLook billing software programs.
Prior to owning their billing business, Cyndee Weston paid health insurance claims for commercial insurance. She has been named a member of Who's Who in Executives and Business Professionals twice. Larry Weston previously co-owned a successful electronics technology and repair service business.
Their billing business far exceeded their expectations within the first few months and Mr. Weston was able to sell out to his partner so he could devote his expertise and efforts toward their billing company. Combined, the Weston's have more than 30 years of experience in medical billing, insurance, information systems technology and business management.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you provide doctor accounts?
A: We are not an employment agency, nor do we provide you with accounts. Any company that implies they will provide you with provider accounts, frankly speaking, is probably a scam. Most companies that claim this are simply providing you with an outdated list of healthcare providers. Medicare has, in the past, provided a list of doctors not filing claims electronically, however, many of those lists are no longer available or are outdated as a result of the implementation of HIPAA Transaction Standards.
Q: Do you provide us with a list of doctors?
A: As mentioned above, we do not provide you with any lists. Other companies may tell you they will provide you with a list of providers who've expressed an interest in medical billing. Don't be fooled, this is simply a list of providers they obtained from Medicare and is likely outdated. The thing you need to understand is that the best list is one you build yourself!
Q: What can I expect to earn as a medical biller?
A: The answer to this question depends solely upon you, your willingness to learn, and continue to learn and then putting what you've learned to work for you. You are only limited by your own desire, the amount of effort you put into it and by how hard or how little you work at being successful. Your education and marketing and sales efforts obviously play a certain role in how much you will earn. No one provider will have the exact same needs. Filing clean claims is only one small part of final outcome in collecting insurance claims.
The results one person achieves is not representative of what others will achieve since each person's contribution of effort, resources and time are never the same. Some people never make anything because they don't work at it or are not committed to owning their own business and don't work at it like others will. You are only limited by your own self-imposed limitations - we provide you with the right tools, it's up to you to do the rest.
Q: How soon will I start to make money?
A: Realistically, there are many tasks you will have to accomplish before you are even ready to start marketing, like setting up your company, deciding on a name, understanding, learning and deciding on the services you can or will offer, developing business cards, letterhead, brochures, service agreements and more. You'll have to begin your education and training and continue to build on your knowledge continuously. Also, you'll have to learn how to work with your billing software and its capabilities in order to sell the benefits of using it. You have to be ready to sell, know what you're selling, be ready to answer questions then be prepared to provide ethical and professional services.
How soon you complete those tasks will determine when you are ready to start marketing. Typically, it can take several months before a person is ready to start marketing. There's a lot to learn and you have to build your compliance manuals. From there, it could be anywhere from another one month to several months before you are able to contract with a client, depending on how much effort you put into marketing and prospecting for clients. As for actual numbers, that will depend on your market area and what other billers are doing.
Q: Is medical billing software included in the Medical Billing Starter Program?

Q: Is there a video I can purchase that explains medical billing to a new biller in detail?
A: When you purchase our Medical Billing Starter Program, you will receive The American Medical Billing Association's (AMBA) DVD series on starting and running a medical billing business. This 6 hour DVD is rated #1 by new Medical Billers!
Q: Are you a clearinghouse or do you provide a clearinghouse connection?
A: We are not a clearinghouse. Billers use a clearinghouse for two reasons. First, the clearinghouse will check your claims for certain errors before claims are sent to carriers. Also, the clearinghouse reformats the data you send to them before sending it to the carriers in the required standard transaction format. Because changes must be made regularly to meet a carrier's companion guide requirements, it may be cost prohibitive to try and file directly with most carriers. Use of a clearinghouse will allow you more flexibility to send transactions to more carriers electronically. Clearinghouses typically charge a fee of around $100 to enroll and about $.35 per claim for each claim you process. We provide you with a list of clearinghouses we believe are reputable, and who provide good service to our customers at negotiated discounts, but you aren't limited to our choices!
Q: Will I receive any printed materials or will your products be sent to me on CD only?
A: Your products will be sent on a CD with installation instructions and information on accessing support through email and our support website. You will also receive a DVD. We take pride in being able to keep our prices low by utilizing technology that allows us to provide quality information through electronic means. Our manuals can be printed and stored on your computer for easy access. You'll also have our CD as a back up should you ever need to re-install any of our products. Should you misplace your CD, we will replace it.
Q: How long will it take for my products to arrive?
A: You'll receive your products in a priority mail shipment within 3 to 5 days from the date of purchase. The only exception will be if you order an additional product we do not normally stock in-house. In that case, your product will be shipped to you within about a week.
Q: Will I receive a certification after studying your Medical Billing Starter Program?
A: Our starter program does not provide you with a certification. Those companies that promote certification by studying a few hours and taking a 30 minute exam are selling a lot of nothing. Certification for this industry requires many hours of study and isn't something that can be achieved in a couple of days.
Q: Do I need to be Certified?
A: Although there are no federal or state mandates requiring certification, we believe the right certification promotes credibility among physicians. AMBA, the American Medical Billing Association, has spent several years developing a national certification exam for small, third party medical billers.
