About the owners:
Cyndee and Larry Weston began operating a billing service from their home in December, 1989. Since then, they have led the industry in providing quality information for many specialty companies in the industry as well as providing successful billing and consulting services for nearly a decade. They are MediSoft 5 Star Preferred Dealers and have been for several years.
Prior to owning their billing business, Cyndee Weston paid health insurance claims for commercial insurance. She has been named a member of Who's Who in Executives and Business Professionals twice. Larry Weston co-owned a successful electronics technology and repair service business.
Their billing business far exceeded their expectations within the first few months and Mr. Weston was able to sell out to his partner so he could devote his expertise and efforts toward their billing company. Combined, the Weston's have more than 30 years of experience in medical billing, insurance, information systems technology and business management.
Even today the Weston's continue their tradition of success through the development of industry related support products designed to enhance services provided by billing companies and to accelerate the educational process for those just getting started.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do you provide doctor accounts?
A: Claims Transit is not an employment agency, nor do we provide you with the accounts. Any company that implies they will provide you with provider accounts, frankly speaking, is probably a scam. Most companies that claim this are simply providing you with a listing of providers not filing claims electronically. Often times their lists are outdated. We tell our customers how to obtain an updated listing from Medicare and in many cases, the list is free.
Q: Do you provide us with a list of doctors?
A: As mentioned above, we will tell you how to obtain the list of doctors who are not filing claims electronically through your local Medicare office. Other companies tell you they provide you with a list of providers who've expressed an interest in medical billing. Don't be fooled, this is simply a list of providers they obtained from medicare just like you can. The thing you need to understand is that the best list is one you build yourself!
Q: What can I expect to earn?
A: The answer to this question depends solely upon you, your willingness to learn, and continue to learn and then putting what you've learned to work for you. You are only limited by your own desire, the amount of effort you put into it and by how hard you work at being successful. Your marketing and sales efforts obviously play a certain role in how quickly you can sign-up accounts to bill for.
The results one person achieves is not representative of what others will achieve since each person's contribution of effort, resources and time are never the same. Some people never make anything because they don't work at it or are not committed to owning their own business and don't work at it.
Q: How soon will I start to make money?
A: Realistically, there are many tasks you will have to accomplish before you are even ready to start marketing, like setting up your company, deciding on a name, opening a checking account, deciding on all the services you can or will offer, developing business cards, letterhead, brochures, service agreements and more. You'll have to begin your education and training and continue to build on it. Also, you'll have to familiarize yourself with your software and its capabilities in order to sell the benefits of using it. You have to be ready to sell, know what you're selling and be ready to answer questions.
How soon you complete those tasks will determine when you are ready to start marketing. Typically, it takes from one to three months before a person is ready to start marketing. From there, it could be anywhere from another one to three months (or less) before you sign up a client, depending on how much effort you put into marketing and prospecting for clients. As for actual numbers, that will depend on your market area -- what your market area will bear.
Q: What happens after the first year of support runs out? Do you charge for support?
A: If you are processing claims, you won't need our support after a year. You'll have a good working knowledge of how it all works and frankly, you won't be taking up a lot of our support time. By then, we'll have developed more of a sharing relationship. We won't need to charge you because you won't be taking up a lot of our time. We always welcome everyone to email or call us, regardless of whether or not they have support time.
Q: If I buy your starter program will I receive MediSoft Original or MediSoft Advanced?
A: Our starter program includes MediSoft Original. If you would like to upgrade your starter program to include the Advanced version of MediSoft, add $600 to the cost of the Starter Program. The MediSoft Advanced Software program retails for $749 alone!

Q: Does the billing software provide full accounting features plus electronic claims capabilities?
A: Yes! With our billing software, you can provide full practice management services plus electronic claims. Or, you can start out by providing electronic claims processing services only. The services you offer are up to you. However, you will experience a higher degree of success if you are able to provide full billing. We provide you with a list and explanation of all the services billers provide.
Q: Can I provide services to more than one account using your billing software?
A: Yes. You can provide services for up to 1,000 groups/clinics with up to 99 doctors per group.
Q: Is there a video I can purchase that explains medical billing in detail?
A: For a limited time, when you purchase our starter program, you will receive The American Medical Billing Association's video series explaining in detail information on how to start and run a medical billing business. Q: Are you a clearinghouse or do you provide a clearinghouse connection?
A: Claims Transit is not a clearinghouse. Billers use a clearinghouse for two reasons. First, the clearinghouse will check your claims for errors before claims are sent to carriers. Also, the clearinghouse reformats the data you send to them before sending it to the carriers in the format a particular carrier requires. Because each insurance company has its own computer system, it is cost prohibitive to try and file directly with carriers. But in using the clearinghouse, one can submit claims to hundreds of carriers nationwide. And, because MediSoft is so popular, many clearinghouses across the nation can work with it. That means you have a choice in which clearinghouse you will use. Clearinghouses typically charge you a fee of around $100 to enroll and about $.35 per claim for each claim you process. We'll provide you with a list of clearinghouses we believe are reputable, but you aren't limited to our choices!
Q: Will I receive any printed materials or will your products be sent to me on CD?
A: Your MediSoft software will come with an owner's manual in a MediSoft software box. The rest of your products will be sent on a CD with installation instructions and information on accessing support through email and our support website. We take pride in being able to keep our prices low by utilizing technology that allows us to provide quality information through electronic means. Our manuals can be printed and stored on your computer for easy access. You'll also have our CD as a back up should you ever need to re-install any of our products.
Q: How long will it take for my products to arrive?
A: You'll receive your products in a priority mail shipment within 3 to 5 days from the date of purchase. The only exception will be if you order an additional product we do not normally stock in-house. In that case, your product will be shipped to you within about a week.
Q: Will I receive a certification after studying your Starter Program?
A: Our starter program does not provide you with a certification. Those companies that promote certification by studying a few hours and taking a 30 minute exam are selling a lot of nothing. Certification for this industry requires many hours of study and isn't something that can be achieved in a couple of days.
Q: Do I need to be Certified?
A: Although there are no federal or state mandates requiring certification, we believe the right certification would promote credibility among physicians. AMBA, the American Medical Billing Association, has spent the last year and a half developing a national certification exam for professional medical billers.
