The agenda for the meeting was timed stamped March 13, 2009 at 8:52 AM in the County Clerk's Office and can be seen Monday thru Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00 PM. The agenda was posted on the south door of the Carter County Commissioners Office on the Court House Annex.
The meeting was called to order by Bill McLaughlin at 9:00 AM. Members present were Bill McLaughlin, Kevin Robinson and Dale Ott. Minutes were taken by Theresa Jackson, Carter County Clerk Deputy. Others present at the meeting were Jerry Benson and Michael Armstrong.
McLaughlin made a motion to approve the agenda second by Ott. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
No public comments were made.
McLaughlin made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 9, 2009 second by Ott. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
McLaughlin made a motion to approve resolution 2008-2009-18 renewing the burn ban for seven days for Carter County, second by Robinson. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
Ott made a motion to approve the FY 2010 renewal contracts for alternatives to detention/transportation, second by Robinson. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
Robinson made a motion to approve the bid for 10 sets of bunker gear from Casco Industries for $13,857.50, second by Ott. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
The other bid was received from Chief Fire and Safety for $16,815.20.
Ott made a motion to approve the bid received from MS Prison Industries in the amount of $43,600.00 pending the Sheriff Department agreement, second by Robinson. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes. The other bid was received from Terran Corporation in the amount of $59,976.00.
Ott made a motion to approve resolutions to dispose of a 1991 Freightliner s/n #1fuydcyb7mh392456, a 1991 Freightliner s/n 1fuydcyb8mh392451, a 1991 Freightliner s/n 1fuydcyb2mh392459, a Tiger Rotary Mower s/n t5114, John Deere 6310 Tractor s/n L06310H257356, a Tiger Sweeper s/n 9940007, Dynapac Steel Wheel Roller s/n 303525, 72” Side Rotary Mower s/n 2026, a John Deere 6415 Tractor s/n L06415A432523, a Water Tank Trailer s/n 65126F, a Fruehauf Water Tank Trailer, s/n OMG363117 all were sold to Ritchie Brothers Auction, second by McLaughlin. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
Robinson made a motion to approve a resolution to transfer a 1998 Bobcat with 2 loader buckets, 4 drills, a set of forks and a post hole digger from District #3 to District #2, second by Ott. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
McLaughlin made a motion to approve county officer reports from the District Attorney second by Robinson. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
Robinson made a motion to approve the requisitions for county highway, general government and all cash accounts, second by Ott. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
Ott made a motion to approve the purchase orders for county highway, general government and all cash accounts, second by Robinson. Vote: McLaughlin, Robinson and Ott vote yes.
No new business was discussed.
